The LAMM technology allows users to develop a solution based on a collection of highly accurate, lower cost sensor devices, networked together, with simple retro reflector targets.
This approach can achieve high precision, large volume coverage, information redundancy and flexibility at a lower cost compared with existing systems. Measurement systems can be integrated into production cells for continuous use, drastically reducing the time needed for workpiece or manufacturing cell re-configuration, and optimising calibration procedures.
The LAMM as standard detects multiple objects in its plane of view and generates position and width data for each object, at a high refresh rate. Objects can be detected over a wide range using the standard LAMM.
The object information is transmitted over an Ethernet or CAN network to be processed by the user’s control system. Additionally, user applications can be readily embedded in the LAMM firmware to provide high speed distributed parallel processing, simplifying the need for additional user systems and potentially providing higher performance and responsiveness.
